Linkspan Bridge: Enhancing Connectivity and Flexibility in Mozambique

Denith Engineering, a leading provider of reliable engineering solutions, recently completed an impressive project for our client in Mozambique. We designed, manufactured, fully galvanized, and assembled a Linkspan Bridge that connects a floating jetty to the land. This bridge enables simultaneous lateral, longitudinal, and vertical movement of the jetty, ensuring continuous operation in a challenging marine environment.

Engineering Excellence for Seamless Connectivity

The Linkspan Bridge, constructed in accordance with Lloyd’s Register Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Linkspans, stands as a testament to our commitment to engineering excellence. Designed for heavy lift traffic, with a safe working load (SWL) of 330T, this robust structure spans 25.3m and provides a clear road width of 6.5m. It provides ample space and load capacity for various off-highway vehicles, including self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT). The adjacent pedestrian walkway ensures safe passage for personnel. The total mass of the bridge is 135T.

Overcoming Unique Transportation Challenges

During the project, we encountered a unique challenge – the transportation of the bridge. To address this hurdle, a modular design approach was used for the bridge, allowing transport using standard shipping containers. This approach facilitated easy offloading and streamlined the on-site assembly process, saving valuable time and resources. By leveraging innovative logistics strategies, we successfully transported the bridge components and ensured efficient deployment at the site. Consequently, we minimized logistical complexities and expedited the project timeline.
